2020 Etchells ACCs in Marblehead July 24-26

Note that we have a new Dave Curtis Trophy that was awarded to Rob, Kent and Timo last year on USA 1105.  This trophy includes all winners since the inception of Etchells racing in Marblehead in 1969 and, appropriately,  it was Skip Etchells who won the first two years.

World Sailing Approves Dec. 2018 Amendments to Class Rules

IECA reports that last year’s amendments to the Class Rules (reducing some halyard diameter minimums and allowing the wire backstay pennant to be replaced by a rope version) are finally approved by World Sailing. The IECA has published a newly revised, 2019 edition of the Class Rules, which lists an effective date of 8 November 2019 on the cover page.

WhiteHawk Wins the 2019 Summer Series

The 2019 Etchells Fleet 27 Summer Series concluded with last night’s racing, which was augmented by on-the-water coaching from Dave Perry. Seventeen boats raced 2 races over the WM1 course in 8 to 12 knots of wind from the south, but with lots of flood tide. Andrew’s Schadenfreude won the evening with 2-1 finishes. After the races, Dave Perry reviewed and critiqued the good, the bad, and the ugly observed during the evening’s racing.
