SSL (https) now brings data privacy to Fleet 27 website

While you may be more familiar with SSL standing for Star Sailors League, it also stands for secure sockets layer and is a standard for securing the data communications between computers. SSL is now employed on our Fleet 27 website, meaning the data link between your computer and the server is encrypted to enhance your privacy. Your browser should automatically redirect you to the https://… address used by SSL, but you can edit your bookmarks to add the “s” to the “http” part in the link address if you want to save some precious milliseconds. Also, you should see a small padlock icon in the address bar indicating that the data link is using encrypted communications.
