Great news!
The Director of the Maine Office of Outdoor Recreation has approved a change in the guidance document as it pertains to launch capacity. The change allows launches to carry up to the USCG passenger limits as long as passengers and crew wear face coverings if they can’t maintain the physical distancing of 6 feet apart. With this change in capacity, Handy Boat can discontinue the reservation requirement starting Wednesday, June 10, 2020.
The following will apply going forward:
- Face coverings MUST be worn. No face covering, no ride.
- Launch service will be available on demand daily between 8AM and 9PM.
- On busy days, mostly weekends, the launches will be dedicated to the Green and Red zones. We think that service will be more efficient if the launches respect the two zones. Look for the Red or Green flag on the launch.
- All other changes implemented this year regarding social distancing will remain in effect.
