IECA Will Audit Recent Hulls for One-design Conformance

According to Scuttlebutt, IECA will audit 2 recent hulls from each of the 3 class builders to determine any systemic differences. This audit is a good thing for the class, and should be repeated periodically. But, does anyone else find it odd that we learn this information first (and only) from the pages of Scuttlebutt (news item posted January 9), and that there is no news from our class leadership on this topic? The publisher of Scuttlebutt has an Etchells World Championship under his belt (as bow crew sailing for Bill Hardesty), and he has many sources for this information, so very likely his reporting is solid.
