Note the 40% allocation for the Miami Worlds. 40% of 20 boats is 8 qualifiers.
NA Etchells fleet captains,
We hope your 2022 season is off to a great start. There are a few items that we would like to call your attention to and ask for your help with circulating to your fleets:
1. A reminder that the vote for the proposed class rules changes will begin on May 19, 2022. Here are those proposals: https://etchells.org/news/article/class-rule-change-proposals. In order to vote, you must be an active owner (subject to the eligibility requirements as outlined by the IECA Constitution) at the time of the start of the vote. Please make sure your membership is current as soon as possible. If you haven’t done so already for 2022, you can join or renew here: https://etchellsna.com/class-registration/. (Note: the current membership list on etchellsna.com is in the process of being updated.)
2. The allocation percentage for the 2023 Worlds to be hosted in Miami has been set at 40 percent. This applies to fleet qualification series as well as qualifying events (which are the US Nationals, Canadian Nationals, and North American Championships). By July 1, the USECA will post on the website the people who have qualified by that time for the 2023 Worlds and will continue to add to it as needed.
3. The North Americans will be hosted June 21-26 by Shelter Island Yacht Club. More information and registration is available here: https://yachtscoring.com/emenu.cfm?eID=14969
4. If you have pictures or write ups from events that would be good to share, please send them along to Alli Bell ([email protected]).
Good sailing,
Alli
