Hello Etchells skippers,
Your Race Committee and assistants, with input from several Fleet 27 skippers, and with advice from the PYC Race Officer, have determined the chance of thunderstorms rolling through the sailing area of tonight’s race are quite high.
This, along with rain, chance of high winds from the thunderstorms, have created enough worry about the safety of our crews and race staff that we have decided to postpone this evening’s racing until next week, same day and time, Tuesday at 6:00. Please reach out to your crews and advise them of our decision.
On a better note, I wish to introduce Ms. Alyson Crowley to you. Alyson is the proud new owner of ESP, #519 purchased from Alex Agnew last week, launched, rigged and taken for her first sail last Thursday. Alyson learned to sail at the PYC Junior Program where she progressed into a teaching and coaching position before she headed off to college at Cal Poly where she sailed JY 15s in intercollegiate competitions. Now graduated and awaiting the return to academia in August, being tempted by an ad for a red Etchells for a paltry $1000, Alex talked her into the ESP upgrade which I am glad to see she accepted. Alyson will be joining us soon.
Welcome Alyson!
That’s all for now, see you next week.
Captain Tim
