Results of July 7 Races Plus More

Hello all,

Last night we had a wonderful sail with an early practice start for those present, a general recall much to Vixen’s consternation, and three nice races in 12-15 knots of  steady breeze.  All eight boats afloat participated and the results were:

  • Vixen with 3 bullets for 3 points
  • Schadenfreude 2 with a 2-4-2 and 8 points
  • More Cowbell with different skippers for each race, 3-3-3 for 9 points
  • Greyhound’s John Milburn had a 4-2-4 and 10 points
  • Seth Sprague and Medusa managed a 6-6-5 and 17 points
  • Wiki-Wiki helmed by Pete and crew from Butter, 7-5-7 at 19 points
  • And tied for 7th with 21 points were:
    • D-Sports with the family Yale and friends finishing in 5-8-8
    • Justice Pollard and Andromeda with an 8-7-6.

Best boat of the evening was Vixen, congratulations to Matt Blake and his superb crew.

Most improved from the prior week’s racing was More Cowbell moving up from 4th to 3rd.

Thanks go out to our Race Committee on Red of Jay, Karen, Sarah, and Theo Corson with help from Bill Connors.  Your mark boat with Doug Coyle and yours truly did their best.  Limited spectator craft due to the winds last night but everyone seemed to enjoy the night, all were back on the moorings by 8:15.

The Pilot Races scheduled for Saturday may be pushed back to Sunday with hopes of avoiding torrential rains, final decision from the PYC RC on Thursday.

Keep working on those boats, stay dry and safe the rest of the week and we look forward to another great Tuesday night in a week.
