Schadenfreude Dominates Class B at 53rd Pilot Regatta

Schadenfreude cleaned everybody’s clock in Class B at the 53rd Pilot Regatta on June 16. However, Butter pulled off a spectacular port tack start to win the second race and take 2nd place overall (class B). Competitors were presented with unique and challenging courses to test their seamanship and problem solving skills, featuring:

  • Start and finish lines crossable only on port tack;
  • Multiple fleets sailing through and among each other on different headings and legs, presenting numerous encountering situations that inflate the apparent class size and challenge the onboard rules experts;
  • Extra long course legs enabling crews to relax, eat, drink, and take naps to recover from the stress and prepare for the post-race party.
