A Note from the FC

Good morning all,

A brief note on some issues for thought.

  1. The weather is looking a bit damp for Tuesday and potentially windy for Wednesday.  Stay tuned to your local forecasts over the next two or three days.  Your Race Committee PRO Jay Corson along with Fleet Race Officer Seth Sprague will notify you of racing conditions on Tuesday as I will be out of town, though monitoring conditions in western CT.
  2. RC Corson and family will be available for RC duty Tuesday should you go out.  Mark boat sub Doug Coyle might be looking for one crew to help with marks.
  3. The Lobster Bowl deadline for decisions as to if and when and how it will be run will be made by August 15th so gather your thoughts this week.
  4. Nick Stone who owns a beautiful 1974 vintage Etchells and races it in the Boothbay area has a worn out set of sails in dire need of replacement.  I let him know we have not received sails from the south this year so our supply is nil.  If anyone has a main, jib, or chute you might like to sell to Nick, please reach out to him at Nickstone3@gmail.com.  A good way to pass it forward and reduce your loved but unneeded inventory.

That’s it for today, have a grand weekend.
Captain Tim
