Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 12, for the Fall meeting to be held at the Portland Yacht Club starting around 1800 hrs. We will have beverages and dinner, followed by a brief meeting and award presentations. More of an agenda will be coming shortly.
Prior to this meeting, you will be hearing from your Nominating Committee, who has the distinction of finding new people to help run our wonderful organization.
Your Treasurer, Rich Hubbell, Secretary, Jay Corson, and Captain Tim have offered their services for another year if the Fleet so desires. But, the Fleet has 4 important roles to fill.
(1) We are looking for a new Race Officer, as Chris Yale is stepping down. Race officer duties include:
- Schedule launch/haulout,
- Assign Tuesday night RC duty,
- Produce the NOR and SIs.
(2) We will be looking for a Social director who will organize:
- Tuesday Night foods and entertainment
- Our end of year gathering, and
- Other events as they occur.
(3) We need someone (or two) to oversee the Lobster Bowl as Dr. Carey so ably did this year (scheduling, consult with HBS, write NOR/SIs, coordinate foods and finding volunteers to run the event) while we sail in it.
(4) Finally, we need to develop another Nominating Committee of three members who will have the task of doing this all over again in late 2020.
