Good morning Etchells owners and skippers,
Spring might be just around the corner so this might be the time to invest in and upgrade your sail quiver. Last fall, Joe Seremeth was able to score close to 60 lightly used sails from a past Etchells World Champion and we are pleased to offer them to our Fleet 27 members at the 2023 Etchells Sail Sale. Many of these sails are superior to any we have offered in the past sales, some look pristine, almost new at prices 70 – 80% off new sails.
This sale will be held Tuesday, March 28 at the Portland Yacht Club. Inspection of sails will begin at 4:00PM. Pizza and beverages arrive at 5:30 while the Sail Sale will start at 6:30. Please bring crew and others interested in our class or for purchasing sails for SeaBags trading. Boats have been assigned positions in the selection order and each boat will get one pick per round until interest wanes. The sails may be available for inspection prior to the sale as weather and scheduling permits.
To run smoothly we ask you to send Tim T. an email with your intentions to buy sails or if not, so we can remove you from the selection order list and speed things along. If you have an early selection slot and wish to place your first order before the sale, please contact us and we will reserve it for you. If you can’t attend and wish to place an order in absentia, again, contact us and we’ll do our best for you. IF YOU COULD INDICATE A HEAD COUNT FOR DINNER BY MARCH 25, we’d appreciate it.

Good morning everyone,
We have good sails available for you and we will be taking over the PYC about 3:00 this afternoon. Pizza and beverages will arrive by 5:30 and the live sale will begin at 6:30. Come join in the fun, buy a sail or two, that SeaBag item you’ve been eyeing can come true tonight. Catch up on all the Etchells gossip. Meet and greet your sailing friends. Sails will be picked up after the sale.
Bring cash or checks made out to Etchells Fleet 27, our treasurer will be there to collect.

G’day Etchells sailors,
Skippers already know of the upcoming Sail Sale set for Tuesday March 28 starting about 5:00PM at the PYC. This is a welcome to crews and friends of Fleet 27 we ask to come join us for an evening of camaraderie, sail evaluations and purchases. Free pizza and beverages for those who show. We’d like an accurate head count so please reply to this email by Friday if you plan to attend.
Attached is a link to the sail inventory list, the best ones come first, good ones next, and our SeaBags selection last. We are running through the top 10 boats on the selection list taking orders for what each boat might want first. Others will be contacted as we work through the fleet.
Three Seabags sails have already found new homes or trades for new SeaBags and if you wish to obtain one or more, get in touch with me. These will go on a first come, first served basis.
Monies collected will help SailMaine as well as our fleet treasury to fund items or services needed, think trophies, entertainment, reduced launch/haul fees, etc. as the fleet members desire.
