Hello Etchells skippers,
First, a welcome to Fleet 27’s newest member, Jeff Stall, owner of USA #5, currently based in Vermont but moving to the Portland area and looking forward to sailing with us next season. We look forward to having Jeff with us and hope he reaches out to any of us for help and offers of assistance as questions arise.
Secondly, it is fall and with it comes discounts for Etchells sails. North has a 15% off sale going on right now in both original and Australian sails. I contacted Tomas Hornos at Doyle and he is offering a 10% off special, 15% if we get 6 or more sails ordered. We already have 2 sails to be ordered and welcome others to join in. Contact Tim Tolford to get in on this deal which ends shortly.
Tomas has also provided information on how to rig our boats to allow a tighter jib sheeting angle with a second track mounted on the cuddy top parallel to the deck track. You might be able to point with More Cowbell, Greyhound, and Schadenfreude 2 next spring. And fancy that, our friends at Mauri Pro Sailing have a boat show special on most Harken items at 25 – 37% off with free shipping for orders over $99! Get them while they are hot.
The FLEET SAIL SALE has fall discount pricing. See the attached list for current sail pricing. We still have some great used sails suitable for racing and others better for cruising and day sailing as well as trade in at SeaBags. All monies go to the Fleet and keep your dues down.Contact me for availability, evaluation, and pick up. Let your crews know about this offer in case they would like to buy sails to swap for new SeaBags items.Included on the list are the North and Doyle prices as well as the trade in values at SeaBags in case you have used sails to turn into a bag or to get credit for future items at the store. Get your old mains in NOW to create a Logo or sail number bag made in time for the holidays! Ask for Sean when you drop off the sails at SeaBags.
We have a multitude of used hardware available. I will take 50% of the original asking prices from now until the Fall Fleet meeting. I also have some used Laser parts which I hope to sell on the first day of Frostbiting this Sunday.
Remember, Saturday is Clean-up day at the PYC, please come down to help, bring your rakes and implements of destruction and let others know we are members of the local Etchells Fleet and welcome them to join in our fun next season.
Thank you for your time and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Stay healthy,
Tim T.
