Fleet 27 is teaming up with the PYC and J/24 Fleet 43 for a live webinar lead by Dave Perry, who will describe the changes in the newly revised Racing Rules of Sailing for 2021-2024.

Hi All-

I am sending out Social Director Jeff LePage’s thoughts on a social meeting.  I will set up a Zoom meeting for 18:00 hours on 2/9.  Hope to see you then.  Please feel free to invite your crews and other interested parties.  Hope all are healthy and safe. 

We have it from good authority that the PYC float launching may be Saturday, May 8. The waterfront crew is good, no, the GOAT, but most likely the fleet will be unable to use the facilities that weekend. Discussions have not begun with our friends at HBS but one might assume the Fleet Launch might occur the next Saturday, May 15^th. Tides are low at 0816 so maybe we’ll drag our feet a bit, let the 24 crowd start first with our first splash after 0900. A second thought is we launch by age so the Heritage fleet goes first? Stay tuned!

2020-21 Etchells Biscayne Bay Series schedule and dates:

The BBYC Flag and Board met last Thursday and due to the COVID situation in Florida we have decided to cancel the Piana Cup and Sid Doren. We have also decided to reschedule the FL States to March 27-28 and the Midwinters to April 16-18.

Good morning and Happy New Year to my Etchells friends,

Last month a group of scrounging packrats/pirates had the opportunity to purchase any and all portions of an old Etchells before she met her final demise at the jaws of a schreder.  We worked two days stripping everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, from this boat.  After cleaning and sorting, these parts were offered to our newest members of old boats and several pieces have found new homes.

Hello Etchells sailors,

Your Fleet Captain is emptying out the warehouse before the big transition to your new Fleet Officers next week.  We have accumulated some nice items from past Lobster Bowls and proceeds from our sail sale leftovers which were traded for merchandise at Sea Bags that we would love to pass along to you.  The Holidays will be upon us before we know it and these clean, unworn, and unused items would be perfect for your family, friends, and crew. 

The upcoming Fleet 27 Fall meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, at 5:00. It will be held online using Zoom. Your invite shall be coming to you soon.

Attached please find your notice for the upcoming Fall Meeting of the Fleet.  Once we have the Zoom meeting set up, you will be receiving your welcome to join us on Tuesday November 10 at 5:00PM.  You will also receive the Treasurer’s report and the Nomination Committees proposed slate of officers for the 2021 season prior to the meeting.
