Good morning Etchells and J/24 sailors,
We are good to go sailing!
Handy Boat Service will be hosting our fleets for Launch Day Saturday, June 6. Some 11 boats are expected that day. Several others have asked for a second launch date and Craig has offered Saturday, June 20 for the second wave. Launching will commence at 0800 each day and will end when the last boat in line has splashed. Later arrivals may not get service, especially on the 20th as the Travelift may be busy with other boats.
Please note the following protocols:
- Once at HBS, get your boat ready for launch.
- Please wear face coverings and gloves.
- When your boat is in the slings, remove your vehicle and trailer from the premises ASAP so the next boat can move into position.
- Have dock lines prepared, though HBS and PYC will not handle them,
- Have enough crew to help.
- Once launched, motor or paddle out of the launch area and proceed to the PYC for rigging.
- PYC float 4 is only for crew pickup and drop off and
- Float 1 is for the PYC launches.
- Step mast and attach rigging.
- Be prepared to finish rigging at a mooring so we will not clog the floats for others wishing to land.
- We are launching 4 weeks later than normal, we may find other PYC members expecting to use the facilities as well, be respectful of others.
- Social Distancing guidelines of 6′ and use of face masks and gloves are essential.
- A maximum of 10 persons on each dock at any time per PYC. The waterfront personnel may monitor our progress, please listen to any requests from them.
Vehicles should be removed from the HBS lots shortly after launching. Monitor parking in the PYC lot as well, leave space for trailers arriving after launch. Park closer to the field when possible.
Utilize the fleet gin poles AND bring your own to hasten the process for all of us.Thank you and we look forward to sailing soon.
