Make-up races when weather cancels racing

Weather caused many lost racing days in 2018. Some talk of adding make-up days to recover some of the lost races. Here are a few options for setting race make-up dates:

1. Race Tuesdays; no make-up (2018 and earlier approach)
2. Race Tuesdays; make-up following Friday
3. Race Tuesdays; make-up following Monday
4. Race Mondays; make-up next day (Tuesday)
5. Race Tuesdays; make-up following Thursday in conjunction with PYC Thursday series
6. Race Tuesdays; make-up when possible and when scheduled
7. Race Tuesdays; Preschedule 1 or 2 make-up days each series (spring, summer, fall), maybe on a Thursday, or on weekends, or on a Monday, or Friday.

Over the last few years, I have gone full circle on this subject. Now, I favor just leaving the Tuesday series on Tuesday and having no makeup race days. The weather is what it is. If we lose race nights, so be it. It is hard to reschedule other events that are going on in people’s lives, and it is hard to open up other days for racing, especially on short notice. If people have the time and want to race on Thursdays, they can enter the PYC series. Or let’s start a weekend series, or a Monday series.
