Bow Number Assignments for 2021

  • by

Hello Fleet 27 Etchells Owners,

I hope you are all starting to focus on getting ready for racing in 2021! For those of you who are planning to race with the Fleet this season be advised you must have a Bow Number.

But fret not because this may be the easiest of all your pre-season tasks. All you need to do is consult the newly revised Bow Number assignment list to find your number. If you have never had a bow number, or find that your number assignment has changed, or if when last you looked your boat had shed its number, all you need to do is e-mail Tim Tolford and politely ask for a new set. (And review this post for Tim’s tips for putting bow numbers on your hull. …eds)

If you do this promptly, (like now) you will earn his gratitude. Tim has kindly volunteered to make up the numbers for us, so we don’t want to be asking him to do it while he is in the middle of prepping and launching the ever-quick White Hawk. Your promptness will also ensure that you avoid the unpleasant job of hanging upside down off the pointy end of your boat trying (most likely unsuccessfully) to put your numbers on straight, not backwards, not upside down, and not wrinkled, all the while suffering from what I have found is invariably a nasty chop and sideways rain.

Thanks for your cooperation. See you soon.

Your Race Officer,
Seth
